NDP's candidate, Jack Layton, proposed today to use a one cent a litre of the gas tax in order to improve Canada's public transit system. The amount would total to 400 million per year. I believe the idea is sound. Now, if the money would be used to buy Green means of public transportation such as electric buses, electric light-rail or subway systems, we would be on right track.
