Water exports should be election issue

By September 18, 2008

We've been hearing a bit about bulk water exports lately, but maybe not enough. The Council of Canadians finds it surprising "that water has not been seen as a key election issue." It's hard to disagree, especially when you read what the Council's Meera Karunananthan has to say about it on Rabble.ca.

Here's how the article starts:

"To most people it's a no-brainer. You cannot take millions of cubic metres of water out of a watershed and claim that it will not have an impact on the environment."

Ms. Karunananthan goes on to explain why it's an issue that we should all be paying close attention to.
